Ultima Thule
Skövde konstmuseum, 2008. Material: textile, plastic, glass, mirror and wood

I call my table setting Ultima Thule to give it my own subjective interpretation of a concept that I find romantic, albeit one that I also feel has many problematical contemporary cultural connotations.

In my work I often start out from stereotypes with a view to puncturing or drawing attention to their conventional significance. Here I want to be part of the discovery of new worlds, of the fascination of being on a geographical or mental adventure and interpreting the “Nordic”.
