Tensta Konsthall 2006
A collaboration took place between the Center for Women in Tensta-Hjulsta, Nationalmuseum and Tensta Konsthall, resulting in an exhibition that discusses the grounds of selection.
Curators: Altoum Alimoardi, Niger Dara, Micael Ernstell, Sara Isaksson-From, Åsa Jungnelius, Konst2 (Rodrigo Mallea Lira, Ylva Ogland and Jelena Rundqvist), Zobida Nadi Sharegh, Nasrin Rashid, and Karin Sidén.

Three self-supporting women. The woman is independent and brave. She needs no one to support her. She gets by on her own.

The white dove is the foremost symbol of the free, afghan woman. She drops her long, body-covering clothing and puts on a white dress, walks out into the market place, lifts the white doves towards the sky and lets them fly.

Imitation 1
Björn Kjelltoft’s tender imitation of Ulrica Hydman-Vallien is an aesthetic experience as well as an intellectual somersault. Painting the style icon’s pattern on mass produced, cheap PET bottles, he visualizes both her work and the material that she normally uses, but the result is something altogether different.
Imitation 2
After Björn Kjelltoft’s venture, Ulrica Hydman-Vallien quickly retorted with an imitation of his imitation of her. The PET bottle made of glass became a bestseller, and so the circle is closed.
